1. Two weeks of Spanish with Queta: wonderful hospitality and a breathtakingly beautiful view of Mahón along with a great mixture of language and culture. We covered everything from the subjunctive to idiomatic expressions to the history and economy of Menorca.

   Queta backed up her claim «Poesía es el perfume del idioma» by introducing me to poets like Gerardo Diego with his beautifully romantic «Quisiera ser convexo…» and Luis Alberto de Cuenca’s witty and moving love poem «El Desayuno». I especially appreciated getting to know Juan Vincente Piqueras, a Spanish teacher who writes surprisingly teacher-and-student relevant poems like «Alfabeto,» «Los Hermanos Por y Para» and «Modos y tiempos verbales,» combining poetry and grammar in wittily creative ways.

   Queta introduced me to a grammar exercise book that was actually fun to read and work with and to WordReference, a very helpful website for definitions and translations.

   Queta gave me insights into very different kinds of musicians like Rosalía, Joaquín Sabina, und Juan Luis Guerra and helped  me to analyze their songs. Thanks to Queta I also was able to benefit from a popular young Spanish media personality and producer, Jaime Altozano, whose videos are proof of his amazing talents in music and musicology.

   We took an outing to a local very unusual mushroom store and restaurant to taste how delicious locally grown food can taste and learned on the side about business and architecture in Mahón.

   We finished the course with a wonderful comida en la terraza y por supuesto disfrutamos de una sobremesa relajada en su acogedor salón ¡No podría haber sido mejor!

   Nach ein Dutzend Jahren Bildungsurlaub in einem Dutzend Orten und Schulen in ganz Spanien von A Coruña bis Puerto de la Cruz war dies ein wirklich wunderschönes Finale. «Learning Spanish in Menorca» bei Queta kann ich allen wärmstens empfehlen, die Bildungsurlaub machen möchten.

2. Menorca- qué isla tan bonita – con su naturaleza virgen, su cultura rica, temperaturas agradables y su gente adorable – sobre todo nuestra profesora Queta!
   En Febrero 2020 pasamos dos semanas de» Bildungsurlaub» en su escuela»Learn Spanish in Mahón» en el centro de la ciudad….y lo pasamos
   fantástico!!! Queta sabe todo la gramática y cultura española y puede explicar con mucha claridad! Además, nos mostró o explicó muchas
   sitios interesantes de la isla! También, por supuesto,siempre recordamos las canciones bonitas que escuchamos en clase para aprender el subjuntivo.. «Que cada noche sea…..»de Joaquín Sabina.
   Por la tarde, era el tiempo de los deberes y de los paseos largas
   en el » cami de cavall»- una combinación perfecta de aprender rápido,pero sin estrés!

3. Ich habe letztes Jahr eine Woche Bildungsurlaub bei Queta gehabt und bin restlos begeistert: Queta als Lehrerin, kurzweiliger, interessanter Unterricht, …und die Insel als Urlaubs-und Wanderziel!
   It’s a Must!!
   Dieses Jahr wieder zum Spanischlernen, hab schon gebucht!

4. 2 Wochen Bildungsurlaub in Menorca: es war super, aber auch echt anstrengend…Queta hat spanisch super vermittelt, sie wusste alles über die spanische Geschichte, sei es das Festland oder die Inseln. Tipps für Ausflüge hatte sie auch parat. Ich komme im nächsten Jahr auf alle Fälle wieder!!! Muchas Gracias
